We return to the story of Ang Dawa Sherpa – a 24-year-old Nepali and former care home resident, who carried the Hope for Mundial flag to the summit of Lobuche East in the Himalayas.

Today, Ang works as a high-altitude guide, so he no longer plays football regularly, but he still loves the game with all his heart. He supports Bayern Munich, and his favorite player for years has been Robert Lewandowski – he even cheered for him back when everyone else was choosing Messi or Ronaldo.

His love for football has also kept him connected to his care home. Ang Dawa has been an important and valuable member of organizing team of “Winter Events“. A sport and interactive event organized for the child care homes in Kathmandu over the years.

Below you can find a video from the 6th edition of “Winter Events” organized in 2025:

We asked Ang what message he would like to share today with children from care homes around the world:

“Your beginnings do not define your future. You carry strength, courage, and limitless potential within you. Dream boldly, stay determined, and keep moving forward – the world needs your energy, your story, and your hope.

Lastly, never forget to show gratitude and give back to those who shaped and supported you!”
