Here’s the continuation of the story of Ang Dawa Sherpa, a 24-year-old Nepali who carried the Hope for Mundial flag into the Himalayas. Ang is a former resident of a Nepalese care home, who took part in our 6th World Cup!

Today, he is 24 and works as a high-altitude guide. He leads trekking tours and expeditions in the Himalayas, and in the off-season he also organizes spiritual Buddhist pilgrimages, as well as co-creates travel expeditions and cultural events in Nepal.

Thanks to this, he stays close to culture and spirituality, and meets people from all over the world.

We asked Ang why he carried the Hope for Mundial flag to the summit of the 6,000-meter peak Lobuche East:

“I carried the symbol as an expression of gratitude — for the opportunity Hope for Mundial gave me and thousands of children like me. It was also my way of showing that support, compassion, and opportunity can lift lives higher than any mountain.

Placing the banner on the summit was my reminder to the world that during times of conflict, chaos, and uncertainty, we need more initiatives that bring people together, inspire unity, and create hope. The Himalayas are a place of clarity and resilience for me, and sharing that message from the top felt meaningful.”

The rest of Ang’s story will be posted soon!
