The 1st International Hungarian Championship of Children from Care Homes in Football took place at Ágota Falva from 14th to 16th of June.
10 teams participated in the tournament, five were representatives from Hungary and the remaining teams were from: Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Poland and Ukraine.
Out of nearly 100 young players the Slovaks proved to be the best, beating Poland in the grand finale after a series of penalties.
Hungary A and Slovenia competed in the match for 3rd place, where the hosts of the tournament emerged victorious, taking home the bronze cup.
The Fair Play team reward was won by the female team from Hungary.
Hungarian coaches closely watched the performance of all Hungarian players during the tournament. Soon they will choose the cadres who will represent Hungary at the 9th World Cup of Children from Care Homes in Football – August 10th and 11th in Warsaw!
