On Sunday, July 14th, at the Warsaw Municipal Stadium at Łazienkowska 3 street, the 7th World Cup of Children from Care Homes has ended. The best of 27 teams from around the world turned out again to be last year’s winners – the team of Ukraine, the Netherlands won silver medal, and the Belgians reached for bronze, defeating Russia.
Nearly 270 players from children care homes from around the world played 86 games and scored 363 goals (336 in the group stage, 27 in the knockout phase). Players from Slovenia, Lithuania, Croatia, Belarus, Russia, Germany, Jordan, the Netherlands, Japan, Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia, Vietnam, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Thailand, Latvia, Belgium, Portugal, Nepal, Czech Republic, Ireland, Palestine, Spain, Montenegro and Poland entered the field.
In the red and white colors their games played National Team chosen from among the best players of the 10th Championship of Poland, which took place in April this year in Warsaw.
In the final Ukraine defeated the Netherlands (1: 0). Belgium, after the match against Russia (3: 1) won third place.

The World Cup of Children from Care Homes is unique event for all football fans. For those who came to the Legia stadium last Sunday, there were waiting lots of attractions and huge amount of emotions. Supporters of adult football fans had the opportunity to meet football celebrities. Guests of the World Cup were: Maniche, Frank Verlaat, Nuno Valente, Dariusz Dziekanowski, Sebastian Mila, Tomasz Kłos, Radosław Gilewicz, Robert Podoliński and Jacek Krzynówek. As jokers they took part in the Match of Stars: Television vs Internet. TV players defeated representation of the Internet 7: 1.
