Ang Dawa Sherpa, who grew up in a care home and was a participant in the 6th World Cup of Children from Care Homes, set off in September for Manaslu – the world's eighth-highest peak. Ang named the expedition the "Summit of Gratitude" to express his thanks to all the people and communities whose support helped shape his life.

During the expedition, Ang reached Camp III, attaining an altitude of 6,800-7,000 m above sea level. However, poor weather conditions made a retreat necessary. In the high mountains, safety and knowing when to turn back are more important than reaching the summit.

As Ang recounted:

“I reached Camp III at an altitude of 6,800-7,000 m, but due to bad weather conditions, I had to turn back. This time, nature and the mountain said ‘no’.”

We congratulate Ang on reaching 6,800-7,000 m and making the responsible decision to turn back! We believe the story of the “Summit of Gratitude” will continue.
